Shakti Selene... director and choreographer of Ancient Echoes since 2001. She studied dance at the Goodman Theater in Chicago. She has studied, taught, and performed in areas such as India, Egypt, Greece, Turkey and Morrocco. She has performed in Charleston for 10 years and taught through her dance studios and private organizations. Shakti's performances have been at Piccolo, Saudi weddings, Turkish parties, weddings, art festivals, local restaurants such Taste of India and numerous nite clubs. She held the Camel contracts for 2 years. She is a founding member of Ancient Echoes. Shakti travels to Turkey and Cairo 4 times a year to perform, research, and collect new music and costumes.
